Alistair Ramsay MBE
Chairman
Alistair Ramsay has been involved in drug prevention for over 20 years. He coordinated the production of drug education packages for Scottish schools. Attached to HM Police Inspectorate, he inspected the drug work of the Scottish Police Forces. He was Director of Scotland Against Drugs for over seven years. His work with the business world included training for directors and key staff.
He has gained the Institute of Directors prestigious Diploma in Company Direction and has been awarded Chartered Director from the IoD.
In 2000 he was awarded an MBE for his services to the prevention of drug misuse.
He was conferred Doctor of the University in June 2007 at the University of Strathclyde
George Hall
Company Secretary
George Hall was a civil servant with wide experience of Government functions in Scotland. This included time spent with the Audit Unit. He spent 9 years seconded to Scottish Business in the Community with principal responsibility for business development.
As Depute Director of Scotland Against Drugs, George developed its highly acclaimed ‘Lifestyle’ project involving all the football clubs in the SPL and other leagues. The project rolled out to include rugby and other professional sports clubs in Scotland.
